Improvised theater is a genre in itself, usually done with humor.
The subject is simple at the beginning but they build up a whole story from one name.
Judging on their reactions, it is obvious that they know each others and that they have worked together a little : Both seem to understand the other one’s reaction.
It’s a good example of a good improvisation : the story is built by both of the actors, each one reacts to what the others says or do, even if it’s not what they had in mind.
This confirms what Dave Liebman says in a more understandable way : each actor LISTENS to the others and they COMMUNICATE !
The examples are easy to find, another well known group of improviser is "improv-everywhere" :
